In 2024, Magic Juan’s album Superhéroe earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Album of the Year (Merengue/Bachata), cementing his status as an Urban Latin music pioneer. Born in Washington Heights, NYC, and raised in Teaneck, NJ, Magic blends Merengue, Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, and House into global hits. "El Negrito del Swing” began his musical journey mastering piano, guitar, and drums while dedicating after-school hours to songwriting and recording. He later helped form Proyecto Uno, known for hits like Brinca, Esta Pegao, and Latinos. Their hit El Tiburón, named one of Rolling Stone's 25 greatest Latin songs, propelled them to sell over six million albums and define the urban Latino genre. As a solo artist, Magic elevated his legacy with hits like Ta Buena, Meneando la Pera, and La Última Vez feat. Eddy Herrera, earning nominations at the Latin Grammys, Billboard Latin Music Awards, and Premios Juventud. His Free Cover live series broke streaming records, and his collaboration on The Beatnuts’ Se Acabo became a viral TikTok sensation. In 2023, the U.S. House of Representatives honored “El Duro” for contributions to Hip-Hop during its 50-year celebration.
