Los Angeles based producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, Alvin Risk has been creating some of this generations most defining and distinctive music for over a decade. He cut his teeth in a self-built studio in Washington DC where he produced on the front lines of drum and bass, releasing music under the names Corrupt Souls and Telemetrik on Black Sun Empire, Renegade Hardware, and Moving Shadow. This early work took him on tours across the underground club circuit of North America and across Europe, Australia and Russia, in addition to establishing himself on the forefront of music production and sound creation.
Alvin broke from drum & bass into dance music with chart-topping remixes for FUN. & Janelle Monáe, The Prodigy, Steve Aoki, Skrillex, Damian Marley, Example, Kaskade, and Skylar Grey. In 2012, Alvin and Skrillex began producing and touring together, releasing their collaborations through Big Beat/Atlantic. Throughout his career he also has releases on Dim Mak, Fools Gold, Ministry of Sound, Ultra Records, and OWSLA. Alvin has toured the world multiple times over, playing on Kaskade’s Freaks of Nature Tour, Steve Aoki’s Deadmeat Tour and Skrillex’s Mothership Tour, and performing at the worlds most renowned festivals and venues including EDC, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Electric Forrest, Burning Man, Leading and Reeds, Stereosonic, Ultra Music Festival, Ibiza, The O2 Area in London, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Staples Center in Los Angeles, and countless others.
In 2014, he self-released the ‘Venture’ EP to critical acclaim, and succeeded its release with a headlining tour of the North America culminating in sunset performances at Coachella. The cinematic soundscapes of his music translated seamlessly to his work in film and gaming, landing synchs in Fifa, Halo, Disney’s Fantasia, Call of Duty, producing original music for Apple’s ‘Clips’ and ‘Memories’ apps, and collaborating with Hans Zimmer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.
Diving into other genres, Alvin began ghost producing for Grammy winning artists, producing for Janet Jackson, collaborating with Hodgy of Odd Future on the single ‘Beastmode”, releasing the enigmatic ‘EVER’ EP, the electro ballad ‘Last Forever’, and the chalked-full-of-easter-eggs ‘Holograms’ Mixtape. It was on this journey, scouring the music landscape for new and original ideas, that Alvin and Hodgy’s collaboration flourished and together they amassed a stockpile of powerful original music. Under the project name HA, Hodgy and Alvin have been steadily releasing singles and teasing to their hungry fans and larger things to come in 2019. Stay tuned.
